Downing Street has denied claims that British troops who are serving in Afghanistan are under-equipped. What is your reaction? Tory leader David Cameron attacked the "scandal" of helicopter shortages, but Defence Secretary Bob Ainsworth told the Commons there had been a "huge uplift" in their availability. British armed forces recently launched an offensive to increase security ahead of Afghan elections next month, but the surge has seen a big increase in casualties, with 15 servicemen killed this month.
Meanwhile, a BBC/Guardian poll of 1,000 people found that while backing for the campaign had increased from 31% to 46% since 2006, public opinion remained split with 47% opposing the British operation.
Are you in Afghanistan? Do you have a personal experience to share? Has the presence of British troops in Afghanistan made a difference? Do you support the continued Isaf operation and the British involvement with it?
